"My son was diagnosed with ADHD by our pediatrician last November, and while we really love her, we feel like there is probably a better practitioner out there to help us manage his treatment... while we're not opposed to medication, we're interested in pursuing other treatment options as well... does anyone have a recommendation for an ADHD specialist (either pediatrician, neurologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, etc...) and/or does anyone have any experience with the CHOP Center for the Management of ADHD?"

  CHADD.org has many wonderful resources & can help locate a therapist in the are who specializes in ADHD. Also my colleague Regan Thoman Sarmento provides support to families who need assistance with navigating the school system with an ADHD diagnosis. www.hdsces.com.

  Hi Melina, We aren't allowed to recommend or endorse anyone or anything. Are you coming to our conference on Feb. 9 th at West Chester University? The best place to gather opinions from other parents is at our meetings and events. That way you will get a variety of opinions to help you make your decision. Also, you can check the online professional directory at www.chadd.org to learn about area professionals that work with families affected by ADHD. Hope this helps

  Does anyone else have a child with ADHD? We currently medicate and it kills me, but the poor thing can't function at school or in his sports without it. We are currently doing chiropractic care, have an appointment with an ENT on Monday to check if he has obstructive sleep apnea due to his VERY large tonsils, keep incredibly busy with activities and sports, are slowly making the switch to clean eating, and are looking for a behavioral therapist. I know none of these are going to work over night but I will try anything to either get him off meds or lower the dosage. Anyone else going through the same thing or have any suggestions for natural treatment or a therapist? Thanks!

  www.chadd.net/356. This is our local CHADD website. Check out www.chadd.org for a wealth of information. I encourage you to attend our July meeting. We have a mix of parents that do diet, medication, behavior modification, or combinations. Most importantly, we support one another without passing judgement.
