Who has been to New Orleans? If so, recommendations on food, hotels, tours, etc?

If you want a smaller hotel I highly recommend the Maison Dupuy http://www.maisondupuy.com/ . Very charming, great location and not expensive. Ditto the earlier suggestions for beignets and cafe au laits@Cafe du Monde, Commander's Palace and of course breakfast at Brennan's (not sure when you are going but I think it's remodeling or moving) followed by Bananas Foster. Enjoy all the music and nightlife - so fun!
