SheWhoShat replied:Get a vision exam as cheap as you can, then order your glasses from selectspecs.com for 10 a pair. I used Ossip when I lived there for the testing part and they were very expensive (but I had insurance) and the doc checked the glasses out and said they were fine! I'm rough on glasses so I do quantity orders of 5 or 6 pairs once a year.

LPChill replied:Before I got laser eye surgery I would get my eye test done by spec savers then buy my glasses online line at selectspecs.com . These guys have a huge range of frames and from £6- designer brands. You can also get prescription sunglasses on the cheap to! They also give you detailed advise on sizing and will custom most of the frames to suit

She told me they will only make appointments every 2 years now, even if you have Type 1 diabetes. I said "what a shame as I really need some new specs" as I walked out. And I really do, as one of my lenses has a scratch on it. My next task is to find another optician. Specsavers used to be so good when Carlie & Mervyn were there.
