  Anyone know much about Volkswagen cars or someone who does? I have a used 2010 Jetta Sportswagen I just bought 3 months ago that has a problem with the diesel particulate filter. The dealer is saying $2000 to fix, and apparently the part itself is $1200. All the forums are saying this is a common issue with this model. I am hoping there is a way to clean it rather than replace it altogether. But since I just bought this thing, it is a big bummer ... Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!

  Looking for an honest and reliable mechanic in the Mason, West Chester or Sharonville area. Had a diagnostic test run and we are having an evap problem. Also pumping gas into the car is a problem and one guy said it is all tied in together. It could be a semi minor problem and it could be something bigger. The car is old so I don’t want to break the bank fixing it but would like it to be able to last a little while longer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
