  Elementary Data Recovery Question for Macbook Pro Hi All, So I have a 2016 Macbook Pro with the Touchbar. I recently will not power on and they believe they need to replace the logic board. I hadn't backed it up in over a year, so I am exploring the data recovery route. First, does anyone have a company they'd recommend? Right now, I am looking at Fields Data Recovery, they essentially, if possible, will put your data on a flash drive. My next questions have to do with this, so essentially some things that are important to me that I want recovered and put on my laptop once I get a new logic board are my iPhone backups through iTunes, my iMessage history, and my photos... Can someone explain to me in basic terms how I can get those "files" off my recovery flash drive and onto a new computer so that my iPhone backups can be accessed, my texts history will populate into iMessage, etc. Apologize if this is confusing. Rossman diagnosed it for FREE and the actual repair -- including parts labor AND shipping it back -- was $75. And they replaced missing screws and cleaned it free without asking. The owner also live streams repairs quite often on YT.

  RAM failed on MBP 2018 - All data lost? RAM failed 6 months into usage of a new MBP. Because everything is soldered together the entire logic board needs to be replaced. I've been told that with the removal of the special data recovery port on the 2018 MBP a failure in any component (and thus necessary replacement of logic board) means that all data is lost with no way to recover it. Does anyone know of any solutions for data recovery or am I as screwed as the Genius Bar has told me?
