Am a decent gamer and Youtube/stream watcher so hoping for some good speed. Bell just kicked me our from the 1gpbs deal and need some help on going to next step. They said we would have to purchase/go with setup and if they came and weren't able to we could get a refund. Our mobile service is with Bell. We are pricing it out, but I'm sure it'll be quite pricey. Has anyone had issues with Teksavvy not being able to install? Or even recommendations on internet providers in the area we're moving to. The property manager confirmed cable access, but was unsure about anything else.

thatsimonis replied:I've just been researching alternatives to Cogeco actually, [Start](www.start.ca) has great rates but I believe they are on Cogeco's lines so you may be SOL where you are, worth checking availability though. [TekSavvy](www.teksavvy.ca) is another option in the Peterborough area you didn't list so you could try them, and [Nexicom](http://nexicom.net/internet/wireless) has options for rural customers (wireless towers) but speed may be an issue. Hope that helps Edit: I know you mentioned Nexicom was a no go twice, just figured I'd put the wireless thing out there anyway in case you had zero other options. 3 or 10 mps is better than no mps. haha

519meshif replied:If you can get MNSI fiber then go with that but otherwise anyone who offers cable internet in Windsor uses Cogeco's equipment and lines to get it to your house so the reliability will be about the same across providers. Really you just need to worry about finding a plan that meets your needs and budget. That said, check out http://start.ca if you can't get fiber. They have pretty good prices and amazing support if you ever have to call them.

The only problems I've had were due to Cogeco's infrastructure.

Start Communications Standard Cable Internet 25Mbps download, 2Mbps upload 150GB usage (we only count download data) {this package also has an unlimited download window between 2:00 am and 8:00 am that is not counted towards the usage allowance} monthly price $50.79 including the modem rental and taxes.

We are switching to this company in the next month or so, Cause Bell SUCKS in our area, as you can only get 6 mb, which only really is 2-4 mb.... Can also get unlimited up/download, for only $10/month, not like bells $50/month.. Hope this helps, as I researched all of the internet service providers, and I found this one to be the best in all areas, with regards to costs, packages, hookup fees, and overall service....
