  For reading and phonics there is starfall.com (free) and we loved headsprout.com (a little on the pricey side). My 2 nd grader loves Always Ice Cream (for girls they have a boys site too) and she likes Time4Learning.com we just use it as extra and not a full curriculum.

  Headsprout.com is a great online reading program that's less then $200 (I believe) for a very comprehensive program including emailed progress reports, printables and more. There is a program that is 7+ age for reading and comprehension, but sounds like that would fall right into her range if she is a couple years behind. We've used the early reading program for both our girls for an extra boost and they really loved it! It's very interactive & engaging. Just an idea...

  Does anyone have a recommendation for a private reading tutor? Kindergarten through 2nd grade level? Not simply helping with homework but actually teaching phonics, letter recognition and early reading. Perhaps a homeschooling parent or teacher?
