  Any gyms with EV charging Does anyone know of a gym in the milwaukee area that has EV charging stations? My google-fu is failing me on this one. I recently got a Tesla, and need to get back into working out. Being able to charge the car would be a nice little bonus/incentive to make it to the gym.

  Nope. You might be able to find a charger downtown within proximity to a gym if you're lucky though. plugshare.com is probably the best source for finding EV charging in the Milwaukee area. I drive an EV and I find the local charging options to be annoyingly sparse or inconveniently located.

A big portable box battery that I could plug my charge cord into would be great for emergencies, similar to keeping a gas can in your truck for long trips. Anybody know of anything?

I do believe that the 2015 Leaf can do my commute, but there is only one way to find out... :-) One dealer I spoke to sort of said I was nuts....another said he is working on it....Google says that Nissan does this in England.   If there are no Leaf dealers or rentals to be found, and depending on your time frame, and work commute, maybe one of EV members could do a mock work commute with or for you. Check out www.plugshare.com for possible places to charge the Leaf in addition to your home and the work place.

(My dashboard's GPS apparently gives a PARTIAL listing, given that on more than one instance, I've been just blocks or feet away and that particular charging station never shows up on the screen.)   Jeffrey donwload Plugshare.com there is a desk top icon and an ap.. looks like there are a couple of chargers.. one at Kohl's Foulger Sq a 2 minute walk and the other at Lowes a 7 minute walk

  PlugShare is a smartphone app that locates charging stations. Note that I recently drove from TN to CA and back and my experience was that most hotels will NOT let you charge. I usually gave up after calling six or eight of them in a given area.

  You can find a map of charging stations at http://plugshare.com/ -- the orange ones can charge a LEAF in 20-30 minutes. All LEAFs (and I think all EVs) come with a free Level 1 (120V) charging cord. These will charge a LEAF in about 20 hours. If you want a Level 2 (240V) charging station, which can charge a LEAF in 4 hours, you will have to purchase one. If you are a Puget Sound Energy electric customer, they have a $500 rebate on charging stations and you can get one for about $599 these days.

  Bill Myers: go to http://www.plugshare.com/, type "Orange County" in the search and eliminate everything except Public stations, in use/offline, and EV plug (J1772). they are everywhere, but some are car dealers, some have parking fees (*that you would have to pay whether you were charging or not), etc.
