  I called a pest control company about brown recluse spider extermination. Their method of treatment was to spray a dessicant in the blown-in insulation in the attic as this is a favorite breeding area. The dessicant dries up existing spiders and eggs. I've purchased "Big H Products" pre-baited traps (no poisons) online and since found out they are available at the Ace Hardware near Donelson Plaza. www.brownreclusespider.com

  Bio Guard says the more sticky traps the better for brown recluse as they are more drawn to the traps by the more spiders, etc on there. Brown recluse can live almost a year or so without food or water so they are in no rush to move about like some bugs foraging for food. Place sticky traps against wall baseboard and not where pets can get to them

  Cooks pest control will come out and put out glue boards to see if you have an "infestation" free of charge I believe. They used to be the only pest control in town that treated for them. Brown recluse have to get the powder directly on them and then it hits their nervous system. Other treatments are a waste of money. Is your basement finished? Does the basement allow them access to your living area? I would have it treated before I unpack everything and make sure you don't keep any cardboard boxes. Inbox me if you have any questions.   Does all American do brown recluse treatment now? I loved them but they referred me to Cooks for the brown recluse. I still have termite prevention service with them.

  Put down TONS of glue traps. These will catch whatever they're feeding on - and quite a few of the spiders too! Keep in mind that sprays and powders will NOT kill brown recluse spiders as their bodies do not drag through these things because of they way that their bodies are formed. The powders and sprays will only kill the bugs that they may be feeding on.

  Honestly no pest control company can "kill" brown recluses unless you evacuate the house and BOMB it. I had brown recluses in my house when I first moved in and I had to put glue traps down... its the only thing that is going to catch them and kill them (unless you spot it and kill it yourself). They are baseboard runners so the glue traps are very easy to place and maintain... After a year they decreased very quickly... I have been in my house for a little over 2 years now and I have only caught 2 this year and that is HUGE compared the amount I was catching before!
