  Dr. Avani Patel in Los Alamitos...not the cheapest for eye exam but she is wonderful with kids and I think works w/the school district as well. For my daughter, we do the exam with her and then take the prescription to get glasses at Costco, all out of pocket. I'd highly recommend her (562)430-6161
