  www.windingriverresort.com.. We have been riding there every summer for at least one week since 1998. Fantastic trails in the Rocky Mtn national park!Cant beat the riding anywhere! Campground is nice and wont find better horse people anywhere. Wes,Marsha,Nick,and Kris will go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Buy a topo map from the backcountry office in the visitor center and check trail conditions with them.

  Winding River Resort has horses for all experience levels. Ages 6 and up can take guided trail rides and 5 and under can do pony rides. Our guide was AWESOME and the place so clean. We had a blast! You could tell the horses enjoyed the attention too!

  winding river resort. Beautiful riding in the Rockies. nice facilities for horses and humans. lots of wildlife to see. campground sites in the valley surrounded by the mountains. we stay for nine days a year and still cant see and do everything we want to. they offer rv sites with pens for your horses. they have cabins for rent as well.

  I second Winding River Resort. Amazing campground and the owners are so sweet. We stayed there in June for a week and there was plenty more trails we wanted to ride, we just ran out of time.

  Have you tried Winding River Resort/Camping in Grand Lake? www.windingriverresort.com. I live in GL. Lake is stocked. Skies are clear. People may stay away thinking the Big Meadow fire is still going strong but it's not, and we don't have any smoke.

  For the last four years we have trailered our horses out west from East Tennessee to ride and primitive camp. This year my kids are rafting the Green River in Utah and we are thinking about taking them out in our motorhome and knocking around July 20 thru 26th while they are rafting the river. My question is does anyone know of any place within say 6 hours of there where you could get a guide with horses to ride for a day or a few days? Is it too hot to go to Bryce that time of year? I'm sure we couldn't get reservations for Ruby's anyway. I tried Oleo ranch in Lake City, Colorado but they don't rent horses, you have to have your own. We can stay in the motorhome or not. Thinking maybe Togotwee lodge outside Jackson, Wyoming, I have camped close to there years ago and gone on their day rides but that is a long ways. I open to any suggestions. Thanks.
