  Ok Disney Junkies I need some advice. I guess I'm not really a Disney Junkie yet but I sure want to be. I've been to Disney World once in high school for a cheerleading comp but didn't have much time in the parks for fun. I would really like to plan a trip for my family of 5. Three kids ages 10,13,15 and of course my hubby. Here is one of my problems. We have 3 Standard Poodles and one chihuahua. I have never boarded them before and not sure how my female Spoo would react. Would you rather rent off property and bring pets or stay on site. Next the dining situation. We are a very picky family is there somewhere I can find menus and reviews of restaurants? I have so many questions so if anyone has any advice for a newbie I sure would appreciate it. Also At 34 years of age I'm not in the best of health. I have lupus among many other things which make my health unpredictable. I am highly allergic to the sun but can handle small doses of I'm covered with shade. Walking can be a problem at times. So any advice on the best time to go, disability features anything you can think of to help me plan my dream vacation would be greatly appreciated.

  I do it understand the way unforseen disaster worries. I did it for our first trip 4 year ago. Knowledge is power. I would bring the snacks you know he likes. I even brought a jar of pb and jelly and purchased bread in resort store. Coz I knew at least he would eat that. we don't do that anymore. Plus if you need to go off site for any emergencies Disney is very accommodating and there is always a taxi. Study all ears.net it is a wealth of knowledge from resorts to parks to menus. It will ease your fears. Also the moms panel is fantastic! Disneyparksmomspanel.Disney.go.com

  for your lupus they make uv shirts and llbean and rei and columbia all make different kinds. Some are really light weight for the heat. A hat and plenty of water. I would go early apring march no later than may or october or november. All ears.net has a full list of all menu's.

  Find a boarding place & test it out or a pet sitter for your house and leave them at home. After a day in the parks you will be too tired to deal with them and they will have to stay crated all day while you are gone either way or risk them trashing a rental house out of boredom and fear. (I foster dogs and have trained them for 20 years, I love them but I also understand how much work they can be) Explain to Guest Relations you can't be in sun for long periods and they might give you a GAP pass that you can get signed and then go wait inside someplace until your time to enter (10 minutes less than wait time listed at the time you get it signed) Rent a scooter with a covered top. (Apple is one place used to rent from) Since your kids are older go later in the day and stay on property to take advantage of EMH which will let you do everything you want pretty much. We never do dining plan bc we don't eat a ton while in the parks. We go once a month and love Disney. Enjoy! :)

  We have 2 cats so it's a little different for us but I have a fantastic friend that house & kitty sits while we are away. I had only stayed on property until this last trip. We split it 1/2 and 1/2. while it was really close to Disney, 12 mins from driveway to gate, it still wasn't as magical as when we only stayed on property. IMO To be all inclusive in WDW is AMAZING! You don't drive, cook, clean so to speak....a true vacation. With a family of 5 you would have to stay at a moderate resort or get a suite at a value resort. All Star Music has suites. I have yet to stay at one of the moderates but we are looking into Caribbean Beach for our trip next year. Looks absolutely beautiful. We love the dining plan. I have an Autistic son who is a very picky eater and we have found something for him to eat at all the wonderful places everyone recommends. I have an allergy to tree nuts as well. So we send over that info to Disney Dining and the Chef comes out and talks about options for you. A Chef has also tailor made a dinner for my son at Cinderella's Royal Table because he wouldn't touch any of the options with a 10 ft pole, even at 22 years old. I spent MANY hours on allears researching restaurants and menus before our first trip 4 years ago. I think you will find plenty of options even for the pickiest of eaters! If you see a steak that has all this fru fru stuff all over and you don't want it just order it w/o all that stuff. Easy. I would start planning your trip right away. We usually do a year in advance. You can put down $200 to reserve your room and dates, then you pay as much as you want as often as you want. To be paid off in full 30 days before your trip. Disney lay away I call it. They also have a new vacation savings acct that I haven't looked into yet. You can also change dates or move the vacation if you need to up until 45 days before travel. Happy Planning!

  Any older teenaged neighbors or family members? We have a neighbor that has been dog sitting for years. The dogs know the whole family and they get to stay in their home. We've also used our babysitter, the dogs are completely used to her!

  I would suggest leaving the dogs at home with a family friend or relative, or if not that then board them (some vets board animals, if you want a place that is familiar to them). The reason is that you would be leaving them in an unfamiliar home, alon e, all day long. And I think I would constantly be worrying that they would somehow get out, or they would tear up the house (even if they are angelic dogs, leaving them alone in a new home could incite different behavior). As for dining, someone else mentioned all ears - I agree 100%, I am on that site way too much to be healthy LOL. Also try the disney food blog, they have good reviews with pictures. And don't forget to ask away! You can always ask for suggestions here or in other groups based on what your group likes or doesn't like. :) Happy planning!

  I get my brother to come to my house and take care of our pets. He only has one dog and she loves coming here, I have 2 dogs and a guinea pig. As for when to go to Disney for your disability I would say any time from Oct to April - May through Sept is the hottest and most humid. As for dining I dont care where you go the food is good. Also a few years ago I got bit by something (we have no clue what it was) and I had an anaphylactic shock issue, meanwhile I have never been alergic to anything in my life - the first aid is fantastic if you have an issue. I would suggest if you have issues walking to rent or bring a scooter. My sister rents a scooter from a place off property that drops it off at our resort the day we get there and picks it up the day we leave. Its the only way my brother in law can do the parks its too much walking for him. Renting a scooter on property is more expensive and its first come first serve if you wait til you get in the park.

  Avoid any time kids are out if school, even for a day. The week after Thanksgiving to a week before Christmas is fairly quiet, or late September. I LOVE the Polynesian- relaxing atmosphere, and on the monorail, but the time we stayed at the Beach Club was great because you can walk to EPCOT to the little entrance by England in The World Showcase. It's great to leave after the Illuminations show and not have to head towards the main entrance with the crowds. All ears.net and mouseforless.com are good websites to check out

  I will be working there as a character performer from August 18-January 7 th! I'm so excited! When we went around November 18 th, the lines weren't bad at all. Going for New Years was fun, but it was totally packed. Not something I'd do again. The all star movies resort is fun and a cheaper option, and we've always stayed there when going.

  A couple years ago I went the week leading into Christmas. It was pretty dead. All the park attendants remarked how it's slam packed two weeks before Christmas and the week after but it's empty Christmas week. The decorations and lighting were amazing and it was about 70 degrees and comfortable the whole time. I stayed at an off site hotel and easily saved hundreds.

  I lived in Miami about 15 years ago. Back then Disney has specials for Florida residents in the summer. Lines were pretty much non-existent. I don't know if that's the case anymore, but don't forget that the off-site resorts are always competing for your business. Some are very convenient to the resorts and quite posh.

  Guess what Deb's unofficial and all ears are the same thing. I couldn't remember the other name since it is saved in my computer as Deb's unofficial Disney World but when I opened it up it says Allears I love the disboards though since you can get aloto of honest fedback.

  Drinks are included in the meals yes and you get a resort cup to refill, have a look at all ears.net and see where you will eat, we always book tables and character meals so worth it to us . You get the credits when you check in on your bands and up to you how you use them
