If anyone could recommend any assisted living communities in the Columbus area, I would greatly appreciate it. I live in the Worthington/Westerville area. You can get a LOT of free help from APlaceForMom.com if looking for a care center - but i don't know if they provide services in-home - i think they focus on placing people into permanent residences like Atria in Waterford.

She has been there two years, and we have been very happy. Before you place her, make sure you have checked out any past violations from the state. A big fancy place does not mean it is safe or the correct fit.
Judy B. replied:I loved Silverado, but it's so expensive. I used A Place for Mom and found a place in Carrollton that seemed great, and my mom liked (it was for my dad). It ended up not being a good experience, and I was disappointed that A Place for Mom did not follow up with questions to use for future referrals. They were awesome when I was looking for places, but after that (they had their referral money) they didn't care if it worked out.
