  I would recommend NOT using Dreamhost or GoDaddy... too popular and too many outages on shared servers. I've found that using a smaller host is good because there are less accounts you share the server with. I'd used SurpassHosting.com for years and was very happy with their shared server service-- rarely an outage and fast.
