  Thanks everyone - after the huge pile of recommendations, I went to Grace today. I used to go to Ted Gibson downtown and pay $200 every haircut (dumb, dumb, dumb), so was a little nervous going in. You're all right - she's wonderful, her salon is so nice, clean, and welcoming, and you can book online! Bookmarking for all future haircuts! http://www.hairstylingnyc.com/

  Just came back from Inwood Hair Studio and I can honestly say that it was an amazing experience!! Grace (owner and stylist) was wonderful and gave me a great haircut. The head massage during the wash and the shoulder massage after the cut were just what I needed. Grace sat me down before washing my hair to check out my long lifeless wavy/curly locks, gave suggestions, asked what I wanted etc. Grace has found herself a new costumer!!! I am very pleased with the cut and price!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
