I really, really, really need to find a good Korean spot. It's been on my brain for months now. I need a good spicy hotpot. Any suggestions?

There are a couple random asian soup/bowl joints around there. Republic is delicious and not too expensive. If it was 5 bucks cheaper, I'd eat there all the time, regardless of the heavy student/tourist traffic. http://www.thinknoodles.com/findex.html

But if you want a bowl of really spicy, hot-pot STYLE noodle soup, when was the last time you ate at Republic, near Union Square? A bowl of the "Spicy Beef" should at least get you by until you find a legit Korean joint. You'll be wiping away tears. I'd recommend one in Korea Town, but I've only been to about 3 of them and have no clear favorite. Although, you can't go wrong with any of them. Just don't wear a jacket that you don't want smelling like spicy meat for the next two or three months.
