Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I'm a local girl. I started giving massages at 5 years old, received a massage from a therapist at 14, and finally attended massage school, 6 years after graduating from college at age 29.
Describe a typical work day for you?
I average between 3 and 5 clients a day depending on how long the massages are. The clients massage time doesn't start until my hands are on them, and the time ends when the massage is finished. An hour massage is an entire hour of me working on you, not 50 minutes.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
Massage gives me energy and helping people feel better makes my day the quick and if not always easy, it's never dull. LOL
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
Communication is key to receiving the best massage. Never be afraid to tell me if I am pressing too hard or not giving enough pressure. Always let me know if you are warm enough, if the bolster feels comfortable, if the lights are too bright or dim, if the music isn't too your liking, etc. This is YOUR time. I want to create the best massage experience for you!
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
Every day creates a new memory that get to keep. But my favorite days are when clients are so happy and because of how much better they feel or when they are almost massage drunk, because they are so relaxed; and have to take a few bites of the granola I offer and drink some lemon water to wake back up. :)
