I've been getting into woodworking slowly over the last few years, and have built a few newb projects with wood from the big box stores. I've been looking around trying to find some local sources for better material. I dont have a jointer or plainer, yet... but I've been thinking I may have to start saving for them. I would really like to try to find some mangowood boards as I have some existing furniture I'd like to try matching, but any good material to start trying my hand at more quality projects would be awesome if anyone knows of any.

If anybody knows of anything towards the Illinois side of St Louis better than the big box stores for wood (rough sawn is OK) I would really appreciate it!

So is there a good lumber yard/store that specializes in high end lumber in the Orlando area? I guess I’m just looking for stuff that would be easy to get in Orlando but not in MN… so it does not have to be high end. I have 1 entire extra day to do whatever I want so I figured I would try to bring some bowl blanks or something small back with me? Anybody have suggestions?
