I need your advice. I am a 46 y/o male seeking a primary care physician. I have respiratory issues but am mostly healthy other than that. Does anyone have any advice on whom to seek out and or whom to stay away from?
Annette R. replied:
when I moved to Prescott a few months ago, I immediately started looking for a primary physician and called around: all the ones I selected based on reviews on healthgrade.com or other sites didn't take new patients, and/or not anybody on Medicare. I finally got an appointment with a doctor I'm not thrilled about for January, just to get my prescriptions refilled. I'm still old fashioned and want see a doctor, not a nurse practitioner. if my health needs attention, I guess I will have to show up in the emergency room, or get help via skype from my son who is a doctor in Florida. I'm afraid this is the current situation for newcomers to Prescott. shouldn't be that way! :(
Has anyone used Tamara saccs for chronic Lyme treatments and if so did you have success or some overall relief ? Need a good integrative medicine dr to help me with my chronic Lyme and can't yet afford a Lyme literate doctor. I've heard Tamara treats Lyme well but looking for some feedback and other recommendations thanks !
Chris B. replied:
Looks like she gets 5 stars on HealthGrade.com (which is general), but I'd also love to know regarding how she is for chronic Lyme treatments. http://www.healthgrades.com/provider/tamara-sachs-2 xpsf/patient-ratings#TopOfMain
Dr. Kisvarday, is really good. she is in Lewisburg. We went to 3 before we found a doctor we liked U can also go to www. healthgrade.Com and research doctors
Now for something new: I DON'T want to keep my doctor!
Any one out there able to make a recommendation for a good FEMALE General Practitioner who has a GREAT front desk staff? (Note: looking for new Dr. b/c I do not enjoy any interactions with the front desk staff...these types of things make/break the experience!)
Bethany M. replied:
Ask your insurance for a list of providers then go online and google search them and read their reviews, or go to healthgrade.com and type in their name or practice name. Trust me, I'm pretty much a pro! I've had to pick an OB, a pediatrician, a dentist, a general practitioner, a chiropractor and massage therapist all in the past 6 mo, and so far I have been MORE than pleased with all of them.. But it was definitely a process too find them all
I am looking for an allergist in the area. I want to work with someone that comes highly recommended. Any names? I am willing to go to Children's, please let me know. I have to bring my daughter for a full panel of tests.
Melanie H. replied:
Dr Michele Gotleib at Southboro Medical is fabulous. She recognized a pulmonary issue in my son and sent us to Children's for that. She has great bedside manner and is a top notch dr. You can read reviews at healthgrade.com.

I am moving to San Diego within a month and I am currently 4 months pregnant. I need to find a good doctor who takes Tricare. Any suggestions? I am extremely nervous about this as I am leaving an awesome doctor that I trust. Help please?
Natalie D. replied:
You will have to get enrolled in Tricare and then they will tell you whether or not you have to be seen at the Naval Hospital or out in town by a civilian! I just looked up all the doctors they have me as options on healthgrade.com and picked the highest rated female I found. :)
WebMd said to use an ice pack on the outside of my cheek to relieve some of my tooth pain... Now I just have a cold face AND an irritated tooth! :( Who has a dentist they would recommend in the Syracuse area? Preferably one that isn't going to do unnecessary procedures and charge me an shit load of money...
Sammy Z. replied:
Dr. Patel's office said they send their patients directly to an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth. I chose someone off the list of providers on Healthgrade.com and set up an appointment for first thing Monday morning. Let's hope this whole thing is over soon.
Sooooo I'm looking for a good obgyn that can serve as my pcp also i love Dr charity but his office workers gotta get it together...any suggestions
Niya A. replied:
go to www.healthgrade.com that way you can research the md your self, check their reviews, specialty, board licenses, and check for any malpractice sanctions, certifications etc....
OK - dermatologist recommendations - 2 criteria, must be in Edwardsville or surrounding area, and must be female. I dont like male doctors of any kind. Ready? GO!
Winnie E. replied:
Have you checked out healthgrade.com? I used them to find a dentist when I switched insurance. You can get ratings from actual patients, filter it by gender and what insurance they accept. They also give you a background check.
