  Looking for air conditioner / HVAC advice I live in a townhouse (1,268 sq feet) and was quoted $4,000 for a 2-tonne 16 SEER unit, an 18 gallon power humidifier, and a 12 year parts and labour warranty. The other quotes I have received are for 1.5-tonne 13 SEER units with 5 year parts and 1 year labour warranties for ~$5k. Unsure how to compare these quotes as they are all over the board with varying products and warranties. Any advice?

  Try calling: https://www.distincthvac.ca/ They installed my A/C, humidifier, air filter and thermostat and were highly professional. Most outfits ask you what the square footage of your house is and recommend a unit based solely on that. Nate (the owner of Distinct) factors in window sizes, skylights, and direction the house faces. As a result, his recommendation was a much smaller unit than everyone else's, as a larger unit would have been overkill. It works really well and I am happy with the products and service.
