  Have you filed for a Fiance Visa yet? http://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens/fiancee-visa/fiancee-visas I think regardless of how you travel, or your intention to stay or leave, you can get visitor/traveler insurance. http://www.visitorscoverage.com/ provides some options for this. You can get by without health insurance in the US. As long as you don't get hit by a car or anything. You will just spend a long time waiting in line at the Public Health Clinics.
