  Mil Computer Hello all. I recently commissioned and am looking to take on my responsibilities in my platoon with as much ease as possible. That being said, beyond using publications, superior O’s/my NCOs experience/advice to better my performance as a leader, I would like to get a .mil + CAC friendly computer. I run a 2015 MacBook Pro that I’ve had since I started college. However we know the big pain in the behind they can be when it comes to adapting them to military use. I looked at a Panasonic tough book as my agency uses them and they seem super rugged as well as user friendly. Don’t know if I need the “newest” model or a refurbished piece from an authorized dealer. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TYIA.

  I like the lenovo thinkpads that you can bend backwards and draw on. They come in a range of specs, I went for better-than-middle. ​ The real trick here is to get a windows machine, use chrome, and get all the certs downloaded and installed from [militarycac.com](https://militarycac.com) or whatever it is.   Any mid range Windows 10 computer should work. Keep it up to date. Dell makes their Latitude model with a built in CAC reader. Same for HP and their Probooks and Elitebooks. Work though MilitaryCAC and make sure you can get into your mil email, EES, etc. You can do this with your MacBook, but it just takes a little more time. We have a staff officer who uses his Macbook for everything with no issue. Please don’t buy a Toughbook for their “rugged” ability. Waste of money. The new transition to Office 365 should eventually get you an account that you can CAC login with on your personal computer. That will be dependent on your state and transition process.

  Go to militarycac.com. Guarantee his site will have what you need. If you just need to get into TAMIS for e580 work and militarycac.com won't help hit me up. I've got my gov at home on VPN.
