CAR BROKERS HERE? Are there car brokers in Costa Rica dealing with used vehicles? I am trying to find a Jeep Wrangler automatic, soft top for under $15k without luck

I'm currently finishing a purchase using this service. http://www.yourcostaricacontact.com/ After going through the process twice, I would never recommend buying a car from the states. Every single import that I considered had the odometer rolled waaaay back on it. Jaqui at yourcostaricacontact is very thorough and can do CarFax reports on any import. The money spent on her services can save you a lot of money and problems later.

I can also recommend Your Costa Rica Contact -- we bought a truck from them just over a year ago and are very happy with the vehicle!
At one time, there was a service in San Jose that helped you find a car for sale...they did the initial screening and coordinated the purchase for a fee.
Does anybody know if this service still exists, and if so, contact info?

agree with Lilly. I used Jacqui too and the service was great and the vehicle is just what we were looking for - and under budget. http://yourcostaricacontact.com/

We used jacquie at your Costa Rica contact and it was worth every dollar. Saved us from doing all the foot work and trying to figure out the process.
Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who could look for a good car for us before we arrive? Looking to purchase a 4x4 (4Runner, Montero Sport, Montero) preferably diesel.

ALso, you can try getting in touch with Jacqueline M. Monacell at www.yourcostaricacontact.com I have heard good things about theor service with regards to helping folks find vehicles and handling the paperwork.

Kean Millward- Let's see if I can answer your actual question: there is a lady who has such a service in San Jose. www.yourcostaricacontact.com. She also sells on consignment. Yes, you are smart to buy an "agencia" vehicle, meaning one imported when new, not from the US. Literally 95% of the US vehicles have had the odometer rolled back and were totaled in the US. The supply of vehicles into Central America is generally from insurance auctions, for the most part. Stick to a diesel that is not sold in the US. Not sure where you are landing, but you don't want a vehicle that has spent any substantial part of its life near the beach. Better to buy a San Jose vehicle.

yourcostaricacontact.com we know someone who has used them and are very satisfied. we are going to use them

Kean Millward we just purchased a car from Jacqui at yourcostaricacontact.com and could not have been happier. Would highly recommend, but as Adam said if they find a car from the U.S Make sure you have them run a car fax. We had several cars from the US that had the odometer rolled back. We ended up with a car from San Jose.
Can anyone recommend a good lawyer and a mechanic in the alajuala area? Maybe looking at buying a vehicle there.

I used http://www.yourcostaricacontact.com/ to buy my car before I even arrived. Picked it up the day after I flew into San Jose. Couldn't have worked better!
