About us
With their trademark cheese and sauce swirls, Maruca’s Tomato Pies have always stood apart from ordinary, average neighborhood pizzas. For over 50 years the Maruca Family has consistently produced an instantly recognizable classic old-world flavor that has made their incredibly popular pizza a true boardwalk legend.
It all started back in 1950 in Trenton, NJ where four brothers – Anthony, Pasquale, Joseph, and Dominick Maruca – realized after their father’s untimely death there was no real future in working the coal mines as he had for so many years. They wanted to create a business with a real future, but little did they know just how successful they would be in standing the test of time.
The Maruca family decided to turn their love of food into a business, and with Anthony’s leadership and guidance soon opened their first family-run pizza shop in their hometown. A few years later, the family opened the first of many successful pizza shops at the Jersey shore on the famous seaside boardwalk, and began an unprecedented run of extraordinary popularity that continues to this very day.
In a marketplace where there sometimes seems to be a new pizza shop popping up on every corner, Maruca’s Tomato Pies has thrived by consistently being "the Best on the Boards." Although the names and locations have changed many times throughout the decades that followed, the Maruca family still remains completely dedicated to providing the very best pizza to their ever-growing legion of loyal customers.
Maruca’s Tomato Pies has achieved such widespread popularity that people often speak of spending their winters dreaming of summer vacations filled with that mouth-watering trademark taste that Maruca’s Tomato Pies has continually delivered since 1950.

I remember Maruca's when we visited there. They have a FB page so they must have made it one way or the other. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Marucas-Pizza/28312659454
Does anyone know how Berkley's Sweet Shop faired? When I moved to SC I would have their taffy shipped to me.. I miss the taffy, but miss Marucas the most...
