Do I Need A Lawyer? I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I’m 29 years old and I never thought I’d be in this position, in the process of getting divorced with a 2 year old son. Let me just preface by saying I have no ill feelings toward my husband — he’s a wonderful man, we just aren’t the best for each other and want different things in life. We both agree that divorce seems like the healthiest option for us and our child. We have the child arrangement figured out, so no problems there.
I’m just unsure exactly what forms I need to fill out in WA state. I’ve been googling a little bit and did find blank court forms, but I’m finding the process a little overwhelming with all the legal jargon and everything. Would you guys suggest an attorney? I don’t have a lot of extra finances at the moment so I’m trying to save where I can.
Do you guys have any advice for me going forward?

You can check with the courthouse to see if they have a self-help desk to get the paperwork. If you two can fill out the forms as best you can, you might be able to take them to a mediator and have it done that way. If the forms seem simple enough you could try to do it pro se (on your own) or see if divorcewriter.com or legalzoom has the appropriate forms.
Asking
FREE - Cedar Hill, TN
I don't know if I can ask this on here but I'm going to give it a try. Where can I get the cheapest divorce lawyer in Clarksville Tennessee non-contested no children nothing to divide just cut and dry
Rahim D. replied:
Divorcewriter.com If it's uncontested and no kids or large property that's your cheapest option. I think it cost me under $400 total including filing costs etc
iso a good, inexpensive divorce lawyer in Gallatin. A non contested divorce with one minor child.
Abigail T. replied:
But! You can download all the paperwork from TNCOURTS.GOV for free and file yourself for only the court cost/filing fees. As long as there is no property to divide. If there is, divorcewriter.com charges $150 (?) to fix your papers for you, then you go file yourself. Waaaayyyy cheaper if it's truly uncontested.
Need recommendations for a cheap divorce lawyer or someone who can tell me exactly how to get a divorce without an attorney. Thanks in advance.
Jeanie W. replied:
www.divorcewriter.com is how I did mine at $149. Plus filing fee at the court house is $165. They are completely customizable. And they send you a step by step instruction sheet. He will have to sign them though unless you go through a process server or certified mail. I had to track my ex down and hound him for 4 years because I didn't know that certified mail was acceptable but make sure you tell them you want the card back delivered or not. If he doesn't sign for them then you can file with the court and 30 days later you will have your divorce but you will need the card from the mailman first.

Paralegal Service
$100 - Sandpoint, Idaho
Does anyone know of a paralegal that could put togther a motion/modification for a divorce decree? Totally amicable/uncontested.
Justin V. replied:
Try www.divorcewriter.com. Ive known a couple people who've used this and said it was very simple and saved them money. No fee to buy the overwhelming paperwork from the court house and less expensive than legal fees. They walk you through the whole process and based on your answers they complete the paperwork that's required for your particular situation (kids, no kids, home, etc), and allow you to print the papers right there. Sign everything using the guide they give and file with the county (that fee still applies, but would anyway).
Looking for a good, affordable divorce attorney in alabama. Will be uncontested, we agree on everything. Just looking for the best, but cheapest way to get it done right and fast.
I need a cheap divorce lawyer.... Anyone know of one
Joe H. replied:
Gerry. That's how I did it. www.divorcewriter.com...Uncontested can be finalized 61 days from date of filing. Only thing is, she has to sign a few papers that state she's aware that an uncontested divorce is being filed and that she agrees with it and there's one that has to be notarized with both your signatures on it. Otherwise you have to wait a year after it's been filed for a judge to finalize it. It's $149 on that site for all the paperwork and forms. You enter in both of yall's personal info and answer some questions and they send you all the forms filled out with all the instructions. On top of that you just have to pay the court fees. They're not very much at all. You can check online for the up to date fees with Harris County.
