  Anybody built an ADU? Anybody here built an ADU on your property? Or took part in the construction of one / know someone who has? I’m mostly wondering about whether you went through one of the companies that provides financing/builds it for you or just went through regular contractors to build from scratch or convert a garage/shed. And for those building from scratch or converting a garage, what was the total cost? Any weird gotchas that unexpectedly added costs?

  Try [Summerwood](http://summerwood.com). I built one earlier this year. Really happy with it. Watch out for your HOA. They will go apeshit anyway, but at least have your ducks in a row.
