  Strange request: Anyone know a good electrician in or near Irving, Texas? Our power went out in half of our house tonight. Blew the circuit and it will not come back on. We have tried to flip the circuit breaker, but now there is a smell coming throughout the rooms. The house is old (1958) and the has not been upgraded.   Anyone have a referral for a good, local electrician who is immediately available?? Our electrical meter base/junction box which was ripped from the house due to a fallen branch is a major fire hazard according to the Oncor subcontractor who just left and they had to completely disconnect the power line from the box. So we are back to no electricity again - and will be dark until the box is fixed. Thankfully, cooler weather is upon us...

  I have two names. The first one (Daryl Howard) we had do work for us and he's great. He is a one person shop, but he came out on a Sunday. If you use him, tell him that Jason Edds gave you his name. The second guy gave us a quote for some work, but we didn't use him. However, he was very nice and seemed honest.
