  My girls are getting tripped up with their facts lately as well so we're starting Math Facts for Copywork from Queen Homeschool (www.queenhomeschool.com) It's something you could do on your own, but we bought the book with all of the facts already printed and broken down into sets. The main idea is for kids to copy the correct equations/answers until they can accurately and quickly say the answers to the equations. The more they see and repeat the correct answer the more likely their brain will imprint the correct answer, which is a different approach from traditional flashcards entirely. We've just started, but my girls clam up at flashcards and timed fact tests and computer games that drill facts. This seems to work for their style. It would be easy to do in just a few minutes each afternoon when she does her homework, just give her 4 or 5 equations with the answers for her to copy correctly each day.

We are using Spelling Power but he really doesn't like it and honestly I'm tired of arguing with him about it. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good spelling/language arts curriculum that's more fun and less monotonous? We do MFW for the rest of our schoolwork. Thanks for the help!

  Copy work, copy work! We use www.queenhomeschool.com Language Lessons & their copy work spelling. I've tried other spelling programs & nothing seemed to stick with my son either. He writes his list every day of the week & I also input the lists into www.spellingcity.com & he plays the app each day. We also are still plugging away. I think consistency is key just like when they were learning to read. One day something will "click" & they'll just "get it".....or so I've been told by lovely homeschool moms who have gone before me. Be encouraged that you're not alone
