  Chris S. wrote: Work was good. But Dennis had to go out three times to finish the trim satisfactorily. He painted a room that I explicitly (in writing) told him not to paint and then got angry when I did not pay him for it. The whole deal got off on the wrong foot when he failed to show up for the first meeting to bid the work. While he made it clear I was to pay for the paint, he failed to tell me that he expected me to go to paint store, buy it & deliver it to the worksite - even after I had paid a deposit. When I got to the paint store, Dennis couldn't even tell me what type of paint to buy. His craftmanship is fine, but his communication and and customer service are terrible.

  We haven't used anyone recently but have used Dennis Carothers several times and he does a great job. He's known around Franklin as "The $99 painter" and all the rooms he painted for us were actually $99. The link to his website, if interested, is: 615-400-5134
