I have Public liability with BHS so think thats just a bit steep for vet fee cover..... One thing that would cut the cost of your insurance is to lower the value your horse is insured for and lets face it if we ever did loose them we wouldnt be worrying about how much moeny we'd get. I took out my cat policies when I first moved out my parents house in my early 20 s as a pretty clueless girl leaving home and didn't know their reputation but in my experience their reputation isn't deserved.

Jane A. replied:SEIB, NFU, Shearwater, KBIS and Petplan are all worth getting quotes from. Based on personal experience I would recommend you avoid E&L (aka horseinsurance.co.uk). A great thing to remember is to not to over insure your horse, whilst most new starters have plans to do quite a bit in their first year reality is that they'll get to know each other and have lots of fun. x
