  Any thoughts on a good dentist? I've been traveling and living away from Calgary for a few years, and then worked temp gigs for a while without benefits. So while I have been to a dentist in other cities, I haven't been to one in Calgary for several years. My dentist as a kid has retired and now that I've got a job with dental benefits I'm looking for a new one. Any ideas? I prefer close to the core because that's where I work, and near enough to where I live.

  Yes. Dr. Palmer at Brisebois Dental, right next to the Brentwood C-Train station: http://www.gentledentalcare.ca/ 403-289-9922 Dr. Tung and Dr. Yan there are also excellent. And so are their hygenists. I had a crown done by Dr. Palmer and I have been really happy with it. And they never push you to do anything -- in fact, they seem to steer you away from things until you really need them. I was given the option of another filling or to get a crown, and I opted for the crown. I had the pros and cons explained to me in detail.
