  Recommendations for a good Obstetrician? My wife is about 5 to 6 weeks pregnant with our first child. Last week she went to her normal gyno to do a initial visit to confirm she was pregnant and whatnot. Turns out the people there are terrible at there jobs and can't do a simple pregnancy test to save there lives. So we are at square one with a choice for OB's. Neither one of us know of anyone that has had a baby within the past ten years for a recommendation. We would prefer some in either the Dekalb medical hospital group, or someone out of Fayetteville area.

  From Fayetteville, and I used [southern crescent](http://scwhobgyn.com). I used the midwives for routine visits, and ended up with one of the docs delivering my kid. The wait times sometimes suck, but the care was great and location perfect for me.

  Southern crescent women's healthcare with my last 3. 5 star practice! Dr. Heather Turner is awesome! They have 3 locations (PTC, Newnan, Clayton co) the Fayette location is next to piedmont Fayette hospital and also in the same building as Atlanta Fetal Medicine (who keep an eye on high risk pregnancies via ultrasound, blood, & urine tests). It was convenient to walk right next door to be seen and/or make an appoint ment during my last high risk pregnancy.

  Any of the Dr.'s at Southern Crescent Women's Healthcare ( Shepard, Turner, Nater, Slade, Dyson ect.) are great. I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and my pregnancy is "high risk". They referred me to a great specialist (Atlanta Maternal Fetal Medicine) and my pregnancy has been complication free between the care from the two offices!
