Jake has a benign tumor inside his heal bone. 2.28 cm x 1.28 cm x1.62 cm cavity inside his bone. Yes - that's almost an inch across! It is agressively growing and threatens an eggshell effect. That means thin outer bone and soft on the inside, including a great chance of fracture currently and an eventual possible collapes of the heal if left untreated. They think he had a cartilage fracture 2 mo ago and that caused all the pain. They recommend a 2nd opinion and then surgery to remove the soft tissue in the cavity, clean, & refill with synthetic bone. 2 mo cast and then therapy. Please let me know if you know someone worthy of a 2nd opinion. Thanks!
