Paul Glover is the general contractor. He sent Alfonso to paint the interior of the house. Paul bought the wrong color ceiling paint, and flat paint instead of satin for the walls that seems to be a dirt sponge. Alfonso was sloppy- a lot of missed spots on ceilings. Only one coat of paint on both ceilings and walls except where we insisted that he do a second coat, so previous colors showed through. I just got tired of policing him every day for 2 weeks - what's the point of hiring a professional if you have to work constantly to get them to do a decent job? On top of being slow as molasses, he left scratches all over the walls near the trim from the metal part of the paintbrush when he did the cut-ins and didn't use drop cloths so he left paint spatter on the floors and stained wood trim. He didn't caulk the one area of crown molding that we had him paint so you can see the large dark gaps from below. The final straw was when his ladder left several gauges in the previously pristine ceiling beam. Total cost for this disaster was $4300. We will have to repaint everything ourselves with the correct colors and finishes and hire another contractor to repair the ceiling beam, though it will never be the same. Absolutely not recommended.
