Looking to buy a new or used bass. Does anyone know of any leads besides Guitar Center? I went there, and those guys weren't much help at all...

There's a small guitar shop (I think it's called bluefish) in old village that may be able to help you (and another one downtown plymouth called music plus). I don't believe they sell guitars but they might be able to get you connected with someone. I hate going to guitar center too. I thought it was just me but no they really do treat everyone like a jerk
Affordable drum miss Looking for tips on where to get, or what kind to get.... Don't need a giant pack to record 8 bajillion drums, just a snare, kick. Tom, and cymbals/hats. Would like to get decent sounding miss at affordable prices. You know, good enough. I'm not looking to record the gold standard of drums, but mics that will get the job done for an affordable amount. Thanks for your help!

Check out used stuff on guitarcenter.com They ship anywhere. Got a really nice set of Sampson mics for under 200. The cables were another 80 from a wholesaler.
Alright so im thinking about building a mini guitar rig for small shows/recording purposes. Ive got a 5-10watt tube amp head in mind and a 1X12 Marshall Cab with a 1986 Celestion G12t-75 inside. Im looking for a distortion pedal that is gonna be full and high gain sounding (Good for punk to metal) without sounding thin or weak or muddy. Any recommendations?

no. listen. this is what you need to do. go here. http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedGear/index.cfm Fender Princeton Reverb (any 70 s model non reissue) you can get one on guitarcenter.com in the used section. 1 x10 combo. the cleans are comparable to a twin reverb, and super fucking loud for being so small. u can find them for under $900. THEN, get an Xotic BB preamp pedal (overdrive for your classics tones.) $100-110 used and a Fulltone OCD pedal to stack ontop of the other overdrive so you can overdrive your overdrive to get a great distortion. $90-100 used and if you feel necessary, an ISP decimator pedal to take away the fizz from the high gain pedals. $60-90 used. skip out on the head/cab situation. it makes life hell of a lot easier.

Fulltone OCD. Affordable and badass. Classic beefy British distortion. Try it out at guitar center, I dig it.

Austen is looking for a local place that will restring a guitar. I have no clue... any suggestions?

Id recommend ordering them from GuitarCenter.com. Cheaper plus you can get all kinds of either brass, nickel, of copper plated strings, different qualities and thicknesses. When i bought my acoustic from them i ordered strings also and changed them the day the guitar came in.
