Okay Dallas ladies: Can you please send me your midwife/dr recs for birth? I DO NOT want a Dr who usually chooses to do elective c-sections.... unless an emergency. I'd rather have a midwife, I'm also wanting to have a waterbirth... if not just labor in the water as well as other ways.... plans are to go totally natural. I don't know what insurance we'll have in Dallas. So far my #1 choice is Birthing Center (near Baylor)!!!! So far, I'm in no way high risk. Still haven't had the GD blood test though.

Stacey, you need to talk to Linda Worzer with Natural Beginnings. http://www.naturalbeginningsonline.com/index.html She's a doula and childbirth educator (the best childbirth classes!!). She knows everything about having a natural birth in Dallas and can definitely point you in the right direction finding a doctor/midwife. My doctor was in Frisco, or I'd recommend him!
Other than our awesome CD shops, what other small, natural minded local businesses do you know of (birthing centers, doulas, yoga, etc)? Please share the business name and website. Thanks!

We have had 2 great Bradley births at The Birth & Women's Center in Dallas http://www.birthcenter.net. Also we highly recommend Linda Worzer of Natural Beginnings for Bradley childbirth classes and doula services http://www.naturalbeginningsonline.com/

Linda Worzer and Sharon Mattes at www.naturalbeginningsonline.com. Also, I think one of the area's best kept secrets is the Dallas Association for Parent Education (www.dallasparents.org) - they have a Warmline for parenting questions, great classes + workshops, CPR classes. I was on their board for seven years and it was awesome to work with such amazing women.
