Does anyone know of a electronics repair shop in indianapolis that could service an old reel to reel tape deck? the right channel sounds just fine, but the left produces no sound at all when i play the tape back.

I would consult youtube first before doing anymore. If anything bad happens, it will happen on youtube and you will learn from that w/o doing any more damage to the reel to reel deck. Also, check out tapeheads.net..they have people there (and on their forums) that will service your deck..some may even be located in Indianapolis.

to be honest, I will do the repair for free, but it may take some time to get it running according to spec (being as I work during the day). The people you will find on tapeheads.net will charge, however you will be paying for a professional service that will have much better testing equipment than I (as in most of the people you will find on the tapeheads site have their own recording studio typically). Speak with them first and see if you can get a fair price for the repair. If not, I will do it for free.
