Can anyone recommend a good dog trainer in the area? Preferably not a boarding program of sorts, but rather a one-on-one kind of thing. We are miserable puppy owners right now and need professional help. Our 5mo ACD mix has been terrorizing us (my husband mostly) since we brought him home ~3 months ago, mostly biting at our feet/ankles, but lately his new thing is lunging for his leash and treating it like a tug toy when we take him out to potty or for walks around the neighborhood near our apartment complex. I don’t know how to handle it and it often ends in him biting us more as he goes for the leash. His bites are mostly on the playful side but they’re getting stronger and we’re at our wits end.
We’ve done PetSmart’s 6 week puppy class & have tried all the major methods at home for curbing the biting and teaching bite inhibition, but we’ve had a rough go of it.
We’re in the Chapel Hill area but are willing to travel a bit further for the right trainer.
Does anyone know of a dog trainer? My friend Maria is looking for one trainer for her and her puppy :). She lives in the Triangle area. Thanks
