The lawyer should be well versed in Ontario ESA and intricacies as it relates to severance for long term employees. Employee works remote in Ontario but Corporate HQ is in Alberta.   If your company isn’t unionized what you are looking for is a lawyer who specializes in employment law (labour law tends to refer to unionized workplace disputes). Try https://www.monkhouselaw.com maybe, I haven’t used them myself but heard good things.

And be sure to understand what you might have to pay if you lose. Depending on the issue, it might range from tens of thousands for Superior Court, to nothing in human rights and labour board.
