Need upscale Mexican restaurant recommendations! I'm visiting Texas this weekend and will be in Houston Sunday evening. My husband and I are looking to dine at a more upscale Mexican or Tex-Mex restaurant to celebrate some life events and a belated Valentine's Day. Please let me know your recommendations and whether reservations are required. TIA!

I'd recommend [Hugo's](http://www.hugosrestaurant.net/). Chef Hugo Ortega has won many awards and it was [number 4](http://pix.29-95.com/2012/top-100/alison-cooks-top-100-no-4-hugos/) on Alison Cook's top 100 last year. It's not 100% gritty authentic TexMex but my wife and I (she was born in the Rio Grande Valley) love it.

In to also recommend Hugo's. VERY good, authentic food and fantastic service. Took my Mexican fiance for her birthday and she almost cried; she hadn't had food like that since she had been back to Monterrey, MX. Can't say enough great things about it. That said, don't expect Tex-mex. Note: the (free) valet will wash your car for $20. Do it. Best hand car wash I've ever had.
