  I've had cinchers with wide plastic boning that has held up well, but I've had ones with thin plastic and steel boning that warped and the steel snapped. Research is key, something I didn't really know about when I purchased my first corset. I've got a corset from Damsel in This Dress that is very well made, but it comes down to the look you want and what you'll be doing in it. My Damsel corset is a "walking corset" in my mind. It has rubber-dipped fiberglass rods in the front for a super strong, ultra flat look, and steal in the rest of the places. Because these rods have NO give, it's difficult for me to work in when I have to sit, bend over to grab tools/product, etc. Easy to get into; front lacing only. But for working at fairs, I purchased a cincher which I'm wearing in my profile picture.
