I'm looking for a pediatric or family dentist, located in Anderson, Greenville, Spartanburg or Pickens Counties, who is good with higher functioning younger children on the spectrum and experienced with the dental challenges they face. Thanks!

New to the area looking for a pediatrician that uses the DS charts for well visits and who works with specialists. Specialist we need : Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Pediatric Dentist, Pediatric Endocrinologist, Pediatric Pulmonologist and a Developmental Pediatrician. Also feel free to pm who to stay away from :) We like the Greenville area and can travel to other parts of the state for annual visits. Thanks again!

First, I would recommend applying for Medicaid TEFRA. It can be a lengthy process, but it'll be worth it even if you have private insurance (http://www.familyconnectionsc.org/medicaid.html). I'm not familiar with Anderson's services, but Developmental Pediatrics in Greenville is great. We see Dr. Kelly and couldn't be happier with him. I know people that see other dr's there and feel the same way. It can be quite a wait, though (http://www.ghschildrens.org/developmental-behavioral-pediatrics.php). Dr. Kelly has informed us that the new guidelines for care of children with DS no longer use the DS growth charts. For endocrinology, we use Dr. Amrhein. Again we have no complaints with him. We usually see the NP, though. (http://www.ghs.org/physicians/james-amrhein/1588622179#.U-zwmvldUrU). For opthalmology, we use Dr. Johnson with Jervey Eye Group (https://www.jervey.com/). For a dentist, we use Dr. Crockett (http://www.crockettpediatricdentistry.com/). For primary care, we use the Center for Pediatric Medicine and have been happy with them. (http://www.ghschildrens.org/center-for-pediatric-medicine.php) We have felt very lucky in the quality of care we have gotten for our son. Like I said, all of these are in Greenville, I don't know what you'll find in Anderson. Hope that helps!
