We hired Advanced Concession Trailers to build and outfit a drive-thru coffee trailer. Ultimately, we were disappointed in the final product that we received. Our trailer was overdue the estimated finish time by 4+ weeks. We were told this was because the standard generator that ACT uses for their customers wouldn’t be big enough for our electrical needs and had to be special ordered. We were told the generator cost was $5500 but after a simple google search we found that it could be purchased for $2200. ACT charged us the additional amount for the cost of the generator beyond their initial estimate. We were disappointed to find out that ACT didn’t realize this when the trailer was to be completed. Apparently, this caused a 4 week delay. When we asked ACT for an explanation of the 100% mark up on the generator, they offered no explanation. We drove 2+ hours to Dahlonega, GA, where ACT is located. When the trailer was finally ready to be picked up - ACT did not offer any way for us to turn on the generator or plug into their electricity in order for us determine if there were in any issues. We signed a bill of sale stating the trailer “was in good working order”, however, we were not offered any reasonable way to determine if this was true until we drove off their property. When I asked ACT to offer an an alternative or explanation for this policy, we didn’t receive an answer. After we spent $100 in gas and 4+ hours to bring the trailer home, we turned on the generator and quickly found multiple issues that were done incorrectly with the trailer, including: -incorrect water hose installed; -multiple holes in the water hose, which caused significant leaking; -holes drilled into the installed tables for the water line were jagged and sharp, eventually this would cause wear and tear to the water line and cause leaking; -the installed table for our espresso machine wasn't built to spec. It was a ¼ of inch too small to fit our under-counter fridge underneath; -black burn marks on the welded tables; -leaks in the connection of the hot water heater, and the wrong fitting was placed on the connection; -the original blueprints show there needed to be a drain line for the espresso machine under the front table. This was not completed; -the water pump did not work correctly because the screen in the pump had been installed incorrectly; -the generator was installed backwards. The exhaust was pointed towards the trailer instead of away from the trailer. This directs the exhaust toward the opened windows and leaving heat marks on the trailer and caused it to burn through a locking chain; -we removed the generator and turned it around to point the exhaust away from the trailer. We had requested that the generator be bolted in such a way that it would be very difficult to remove it - to avoid potential theft. We were able to remove it in 7 minutes. ACT assured us it would take several hours to remove it; -one of the plastic covers to the light was not zip tied, so when we hauled the trailer to Chattanooga, it fell off - and revealed there was a missing light bulb; -there were breaks in the caulking separating the ceiling to the back wall of the trailer. We communicated all of these issues on several occasions with ACT. ACT said they were sympathetic and apologetic for our frustrating experience. ACT communicated very clearly their business policy was all warranty work had to be done at their place of business in Dahlonega, GA. Ultimately, we decided not to do bring our trailer back to ACT because of the time, expense and delays that it would cause our business. And, perhaps more importantly, due to the extent and nature of the issues we experienced with our trailer. There were not one, two or even three issues that we experienced. There were twelve issues! We felt like it was unreasonable for ACT to require us to bring our trailer back to make it right, because ACT was asking for us to carry the burden of cost and time. Ultimately, we were disappointed with the lack, of what we felt like, was reasonable customer service. But again, we understood ACT’s warranty policy - we simply chose to take care of it ourselves to insure the repairs were done to our satisfaction. We asked several times for ACT to meet us in the middle and offer us a partial refund to cover our costs, or a portion of our costs, to repair the incorrect work they performed. They refused to offer any refund and simply said, if we wanted the repairs done we would have to bring the trailer back to ACT - and our warranty was now void because we had a third party perform the repairs. On a positive note, the trailer itself is very impressive. It’s well built, electricity works great, looks pretty and seems solid. From what we understand, ACT contracts the building of the trailer to Quality Cargo in Nashville, GA. ACT is responsible for the outfitting of the trailer. Our complaints lie solely with ACT and not Quality Cargo. We told ACT that we would be providing an honest review of our experience online if they were unwilling to meet us in the middle and offer us a partial refund. ACT was firm in saying they were not willing to offer us any kind of refund.
