Does legal aid do divorce? Or do you know any reasonable divorce lawyers who do free consults? Pretty odd situation.... We have been separated for 4 years. He isn't a Canadian resident. He lives in a different country, running from an arrest warrant he has here for domestic abuse. We have a child, who he hasn't seen in 4 years. I am a single parent, he has never given me a cent... clearly I can't afford a lawyer. I would like to be divorced eventually. Is there any chance for me of having legal aid help me do this? Or will I have to save up to pay? Which isn't happening in the near future... providing for my son is much more important

Does anyone in Edmonton know a lawyer who would be willing to talk to me about my current situation with an un-named vet? Our rescue has thousands of dollars at stake and I am really stressing out about it. :$
