  yikes, go away for the weekend and look what transpires. Jax, you were asking about how to find a place and instead got this thread rant. Sometimes people will post here (but not recently, at least for a whole house)--otherwise best bet is probably gumtree. Privateproperty.co.za has a bunch of options (many a little pricey) and otherwise check if any of the local realtors have any rentals going ( Teun from Leyden or Dianne Ormrod or Allan Isted e.g.) will keep my ears out would love to have you as a neighbour!
