Hi all, further to my post in August last year, very excited to say we have now finally booked & will be visiting Mana for the first time in September which has been on my "photography destinations must do list" for a while!!
Must say although excited I am also nervous given all the negative publicity you hear about the bribery, road blocks etc! I am Zim born but left in 1981 & have flown in & out of Vic Falls many times but other than that this will be my first "proper" trip back & travelling by road so there is some trepidation.
We have booked through Zimparks in their Mvee Lodge & I would like to know if anyone can give me any info on this lodge & what to expect, electricity / electricity cuts, what is supplied, what we need to bring etc? Closest available diesel I imagine is in Kariba but if I am not mistaken that is about 170km away so is having extra fuel advised ?
Sally & Lynda both gave me some handy pointers last time, any other helpful info will be great. Lynda suggested it would be better to shop here in SA or Botswana, what sort of restrictions apply to bringing meat & groceries in? We will be coming in via Botswana at Plumtree, staying a couple nights in Matopos & then up to Mana.
