  Aileen Lawlor - checked flowtoys.com's standard staff lengths and the shortest is 55 inches (overall length)... is that what you have? :) i think they charge for custom length.

  attended a contact staff workshop with Aileen Lawlor and we're the same height (5 ft). i asked her the same thing... how long should my staff be? played with her flowtoys composite staff (yes, just led) and it was a good size for me. she says she prefers the staff to come anywhere between her chin and her nose. loved the composite staff though. nice and grippy, balanced weight. and you can order them with nuclear bubblegum (pink) tape under the elastomer grip. :)

  i also have the ninja pyrates collapsible staff... the length is adjustable but it does rattle and i prefer the flowtoys grip. i'm a beginner so i prefer my staff to roll slowly. :)

  You won't break the flowtoys composite staff, it ha does lots of impact. I bring it around with me everywhere, check it on the plane, and it has never broken. If you actually managed to damage it, their products also come with a lifetime warranty, so you are good to go :)

  Happy Saturday y'all!!! Do any of you know where to buy a decent utility belt for hooping? I don't really want a fanny pack to hold all my stuff, and I've only found shops with leather goods. Just looking for some ideas. I'm crafty too, so I would totally make my own if you have any tips ;-) thanks!

  I hoop around my utility belt alright. It gets in the way sometimes but isn't bad and can be hooped around. I have a leather one now but they have nice cloth ones on flowtoys.com

  Flowtoys.com just is a good option with different levels of pricing. With their modular set up, you can start with flow lights or switch to capsules and add/remove lights pretty easily (should be under $100 investment). If your looking for high end, pixel/program stuff, the "future staff", sold by mood hoops I think, is pretty incredible to behold
