Does anyone else remember hanging out there?? In way I like that place better than Moondogs. Moondogs was good too.

  Peter, There was a bookstore down the street, however, I do not believe that it was specifically a Science Fiction and Mysteries bookstore. There was a gaming store called games Plus that was on that block and they sold books as well as games. They eventually moved across the tracks to where Sound Post (the music store) used to be. http://www.games-plus.com/

  Yeah, that place packed with books was different than Games Plus. I remember the storefront that you speak of.

  26 w busse. It was haunted, I lived on the second floor for a bit (mid 90 s). Games Plus is now on the other side of the track with the same great folks. It went from Moondogs, to that SF bookstore, to storage for Game Plus, to a Military collectables place. Now a blank spot. It was pre Civil War and the gas lines for lamps were never removed from the second floor.

  Games Plus in Mt. Prospect www.games-plus.com Good selection of rules, Good selection of lead also. Lots of boardgames as well. Emperor's HQ. in Rosemont. Just off I 90 going to Rockford, take the Lee street exit. IT's in an Industrial Park(!) literally down the hill from that exit. Lots & Lots of lead. Prosek's Garden & Military HObby Shop in Winfield. TONS of Rules, not sure about lead. Friends Hobby in Waukegan. Good rules (inculding some older sets) lead and plastic.
