The Place of Peace
About us
We are a group of people here in Stevens Point on a mission to build our community by assisting those in need among us and encouraging others to get involved.
We run programs such as The Place of Peace (community meal and food pantry for those in need) feeding about 60-80 people every Thursday and handing out around 60 bags of groceries as well.
Also on Thursdays Tiff's Kids Closet is open 2-6 free to those in need. last month we helped clothe about 200 children.
Smile! For Christ's Sake:) is our homeless outreach where we provide jackets, clothing, shoes, blankets, tents, and much more to our homeless here in Stevens Point and different hard hit areas in WI.
Tree Huggers is our scarf project where we hang scarves on the trees at the Library to help keep those who are outside for extended periods due to homelessness or poverty warm.
Movies in the Park is also another fun filled family time we are doing in the summer free to the community. We have kids activities as well as free popcorn, soda, and cotton candy for the kids!
We are happy to announce the new Stevens Point Warming Center opened in 2016 to keep all our homeless indoors during our cold season. This is thanks to our community support!
