  I re ally recommend a breastfeeding certification. If you invest and lactation you can add to your confidence level and offer more services. I am never surprised at how many breastfeeding questions come up and so many of the Doula groups. I became an IBCLC before a doula, and so I may be a bit partial. I believe every lactation consultant should take a thorough childbirth and doula course and I believe every doula and childbirth educator should take a thorough lactation course. They go so well together. There are several to choose from, and I often offer them in the LA area.
